Mary Lorenz is a local Fairfield woman who helps put together backpacks for children who are displaced or otherwise removed from their homes by CPS. Each backpack contains various school items such as pens, pencils, notebooks as well as everyday useful items including toothbrushes, soap, and sampoo. Lorenz was notified recently that she will receive a Jefferson Award from teh American Institute for Public Service for the Kases4Kids program that she founded several years ago and continues today.
