Farmers Market

Farmers markets are great places to try the best produce California has to offer. There was also a karate demo at this farmers market so I got some shots of that as well.

Hey! I'll try to post to your blog and give feedback and critiques iffn you'd like. My biggest advice after looking at some of your work is to focus on cleaning up distracting elements in your backgrounds and strengthening your composition. For example, the kid in the fountain photo has a nice expression but there is a lot of distracting stuff in the frame that gets my eye lost (that lady in the bottom left, the windows, etc). Try to hone in on his face more...or frame it differently.

I like what you're going for with the shadows, but play with them more. Both of these are cool, but the angles are funny. It doesn't feel natural, try getting down on your knees and shoot wide.

The farmers market picture is cool, it has nice light and a nice moment, but be careful cutting peoples heads off. I do it a lot and so should you, but most papers will want to see the persons face.

adam, those baseball pics were shot with a 300mm f/2.8 and some with a 1.4x converter on the lens. I typically shoot sports and news with a Canon Mark II and projects/anything not moving fast with a Canon 5d.
