These were the top ten graduating seniors of Vacaville High School. The DR did a piece on all the top ten graduating seniors of the local high schools. This one ran in the Sunday issue in a special section about all the local high school graduations.

these group portraits are a pain in the ass...but watch a few things. Try to not cut off the peoples ankles, (at the joints in general, it looks awkward). Also, I guess the bulldog in the background is the school logo, it wouldn't hurt to have a bit more of that in the frame, since its kinda there but not that visible. Either back off or get up on a ladder and shoot down on the people. Also, this looks like a tough time to shoot of the day because of the harsh sunlight. Use some flash either on camera or off (preferably) or set up flashes with a pocket wizard (if your paper has them) so the people don't have the "racoon eyes" where the sun isn't hitting them. Some fill flash will take care of that.
